Orangemens first post

Hey everyone, thanks for checking out me and Mushy as we begin our quest to grind it out to the high limits. Well I started yesterday with $30. I went to the $0.05/$0.10 tables a little last night an bought in for $10. First hand after sitting down i get dealt AK, I raise it to around $0.60 and get 2 callers. Flop comes ( A 4 2 ) with 2 diamonds. I bet out $0.90 and get one fold and one call. Next card ( A 4 2 )( A ) is the ace of diamonds, i proceed to bet $1.10 and he raises to $2.40, this was tough on me because I had no diamonds and i knew he was probably holding the flush. I think for awhile and make the donkish call. River comes ( A 4 2 )( A )( 4 ) and the board pairs, thank god the nut full house. Anyways he decides to check to me and folds after i bet nearly $3. I than hopped on today and am still playing. I will post results On my next post. Current BR- $40.43. By the way this will all be going on at Stars. Update: currently at $56.88 from my $30. This seems to be going well. Another update: currently at $72.88 from my original $30

Ok i'm off to a poor start as my bad luck with AA continues. I have now lost 8 of the last 9 times i've had AA. Twice today I've lost with AA and this, along with a KK v AA all-in pre-flop, cost me 2 buy-ins.

Firstly someone raised UTG to $0.40 and it was folded to me in the SB with AA. I re-raised to $1.20. Just the UTG player called. The flop came 2 3 4 with 2 spades. i bet $1.50 and he went all-in for $5 more. I called and he showed KK. Running spades gave him a K high flush.

Next i again have AA in the SB and there are 2 limpers. I raise to $0.50 and the BB and both limpers call. The flop is 3 4 5 raindow. I bet $1.50 and just 1 limper calls. Turn is a Q. I bet $3 and he goes all-in for $6 more. I call and he shows Q6o. The river is a 7 and i've lost another buy-in.

Should i be raising bigger pre-flop to get rid of hands like Q6o? i would've thought a 5xBB raise would do it!

Anyway it's a bad start but i will recover.

Hours = 2
Bankroll = $48.87

Decided it'd be neat to keep a thread on my progress as I build a bankroll from the ground up. Not only will this help me keep my head on by posting results here, it will help others see how its done (but mostly this is for my benefit...to keep me from gambling and playing above my BR).

Starting requirements: Bankroll: 50.00

Site: Pacific Poker

I picked pacific poker because the players at the lower limits are HORRIBLE and very loose. So a solid conservative style gets paid off well here. Not to mention they do wire transfer of funds for free.

Rule set: Starting at .05/.10 NL tables we'll build up to a full bankroll of 20 buy-ins and then begin working on getting to 500.00 so we may move up to .12/.25 NL tables and so on. We will only be playing cash tables and will not play above the BR at any time.

Style of play: Generally for these limits we are going ultra tight aggressive. Meaning for the most part, we're only playing pocket pairs..AK and AQ. Unless in the blind or in perfect situations for suited connectors (LP with lots of limpers), everything else is getting mucked. So lets get started!

Day 1: Bankroll - 50.00.
